The area around
Valier, Montana is rich with agricultural activity. From prime registered
cattle operations to some of the nation's best organically grown hogs, the
livestock industry in the Lake Frances/Valier area is world class. Valier
area herd improvement bulls are sought by breeders all over the
country.
In addition to the livestock
industry the area has many precision farming operations with such crops as
wheat, canola, barley, mustard, alfalfa and hay. Both dry land and irrigated
farming is practiced in the area.
This region also has several active Hutterite colonies providing high quality, direct to the public, produce such as potatoes, cabbage, corn, cucumbers and squash.
It's clear that agriculture is the major industry of the area.
